Supercar Challenge is set for release on 28th August 2009. Don’t mark your calender and rush off to get the game on the release date.
MyInsideGamer has tried the multiplayer private BETA of the game before release, and all hopes of a good solid racer were burnt to cinders. The whole idea of the game was to give the gamer the opportunity to simulate the experience of driving a supercar around a circuit, and do it properly.
This is sadly where it fails most. The controls and gameplay are terrible, it would be easier to take a supercar for a test drive and do it yourself. The slightest tweak of the analog stick will send the car flying out of direction, either into an opponents car or off the track.
The track guidelines are meant to be simple. Follow the line. If the line is green, accelerate, if the line is orange, begin to brake and finally red means to full-on break. Not only do the line markers defy logic and physics by placement, the colours are completely messed up. If you were to follow the marker, you’re a dead man.
There were three cars on offer: Enzo Ferrari, DBR9 and the McLaren F1. Good selection, but they just weren’t done justice. The limited three cars were nothing like their counterparts. The admissible noises, the glitchy side effects and the unrealistic movements all accounted for the negative vibe.
Like most racers these days, the graphics were amazing. It seems like developers think good graphics means a good game, but they were still good nonetheless. The positives are very limited, and the minuses tower the pluses in so many ways that the game is nearly unplayable.
