My love for gaming is not a new thing; when I was younger, I was outside of the catchment area for my primary school and thus had very few friends in close proximity to my house, with whom I could play. Consequently, I played a lot of video games; I owned a Sega Mega Drive -- or as those in other parts of the world might know it, the Sega Genesis -- and then later, a PlayStation. I also spent a lot of time at a friend’s on his Nintendo 64, before going on to claim a PlayStation 2, various Game...

If you read our Editor's Message already, you'll have heard that Michael Pachter is asking publishers to charge for multiplayer aspects of their games on top of subscriptions like Xbox Live. He also claimed that Activision should take the first step in introducing this since they have the biggest multiplayer game on the market - it looks like they may have set the ball rolling.
A thread posted by a user on the Xbox 360 Junkies forums has shown a video of a user trying to join a friend's Call ...

Halo 2 Online is believe it or not still alive, not in our hearts but for real, reports CVG.
The Halo 2 Universe is being kept alive by a small band of rebels, who for the love of their game have decided to keep their Xbox's running Halo 2, until they are forced to leave by other means.
This feat has been accomplished by a small group of friends who have left their Xbox's running Halo 2 online, after the original Xbox Live was switched off. However their lobbies have remained open and will do ...

GOG.com recently added a few new games to their growing catalogue of old games, after finally coming to an agreement with Atari to include their games for purchase and DRM-free download. Best of all, these games will work whether you have XP or Vista. However, I'd recommend waiting a bit if you dove right into the Windows 7 upgrade--some games may not work, but some do. Check the forums.
Four particular games of mention are Master of Orion/Master of Orion 2, Outcast, and Blood (and both expan...

Update: Ubisoft has confirmed the problem has been fixed.
Folks who retained their faith in Ubisoft after they knowingly shipped broken merch and fail to fix the Settlers 7 problem decided to buy Splinter Cell: Conviction for the Xbox 360 on day one. And these folks suffered what we are beginning to dub as the Ubisoft Problem.
A title update has caused players to see the game freeze on the second level. Therefore, it does not affect those without an Xbox Live connection. However, there is a te...

Despite the fact that Star Wars: The Old Republic being listed on an Xbox 360 release sheet, BioWare has quickly stepped in to correct it, stating it was an error and that the game "should not be on there." Sean Dahlberg of BioWare informed everyone that he hadn't the slightest clue how the game had gotten on the list.
Additionally, he said on the TOR forums that the game is currently under development for the PC: "Star Wars: The Old Republic is currently being developed for the personal comput...
